Harold George Smith

Harold George Smith was an excellent rifle shot winning many prize shoots. He enlisted in Townsville and served with the 15th Infantry Battalion in Egypt and Gallipoli. Lieutenant George Harold Smith died of wounds at sea off the Gallipoli Peninsula, on 10 June 1915.

Harold George Smith

In Commemoration of the Brave

The memorial comprises the Armistice Centenary Memorial Gate at the primary entrance to the Belmont Shooting Complex on Old Cleveland Road, as well as a circular memorial forming part of a contemplative garden.
